‘Dynamic yoga’ is an energetic and flowing style that heats the body, builds strength and unwinds tight muscles and joints. The sequencing of postures is influenced by the Astanga Vinyasa Yoga system (sometimes called ‘Power yoga’) but is non-dogmatic and creative.
Many postures are taught with options for modifications, encouraging students to approach the postures best suited to their individual bodies. Breath focus is also integrated throughout the class, helping to centre and quieten the mind.
The dynamic part of the class is usually followed by some basic pranayama (exercises based around the breath) and a deep relaxation. It is a complete mind and body workout that develops concentration and reduces stress.
